More than 80% of revenue targets have been completed

My Thoi Port Customs Department - the unit with the largest revenue of An Giang Customs Department - when the unit has just completed the target of 2019, Mrs. Vo Thi Gai Nho, Deputy Director of Chi Branch My Thoi port border gate customs department was happy to announce that, as of April 17, the unit collected budget of 133.4 billion dong, reaching 103% of the target which was delivered in 2019 (plan target 123 billion VND, the target is 130 billion VND). The reason for the increase in the revenues in the first months of 2019 of the My Thoi Port Customs Department is that the unit has guided and facilitated the enterprises to implement in time the import of equipment and machinery to create fixed assets for solar power projects.

Because electricity prices start to rise from 1/4/2019, businesses importing machinery shipments related to this project wish to complete the import and put into operation before the electricity price increase to serve the people. Following the direction of the leaders of An Giang Customs Department, My Thoi Port Customs Department has actively instructed and removed problems arising, creating the most favorable conditions for enterprises to import uniforms and equipment. The case for this project is on schedule, contributing to increasing revenue for the state budget.

Budget revenues from major investment projects of the My Thoi Port Customs Branch have contributed significantly to the results of budget collection of An Giang Customs Department. According to the leaders of An Giang Customs Department, the specific management areas of the units are mostly border areas, the imported goods are not much, the key commodities such as rice and fish, vegetables and fruits all have higher production and export turnover than the same period. The total import and export turnover of An Giang in the first quarter of 2019 reached 248.8 million USD, up 29.42% over the same period; In particular, export turnover reached over 211 million USD, up 29.65% over the same period. This result is a significant contribution of An Giang Customs Department in reforming procedures, facilitating trade for enterprises in production and business activities.

With the above positive impacts, together with strengthening anti-smuggling and strictly controlling border areas, the budget revenue of An Giang Customs Department in the first months of the year achieved positive results. As of April 19, An Giang Customs Department collected VND 154.7 billion from the budget, reached 87.6% of the plan assigned by the Ministry of Finance and 81.4% of the target.

Budget revenues continue to increase

Not only increasing in the first months of 2019, but also the budget revenue of An Giang Customs Department in recent years has always exceeded the assigned targets. Director of An Giang Customs Department Tran Quoc Hoan said that the budget revenue of the unit in recent years has always been higher than the previous year. In 2018 alone, the number of budget remittances reached 191.37 billion VND, equal to 119% of the target assigned by the Ministry of Finance (160 billion VND) and reached 113% of the target of the General Department of Customs (170 billion VND).

In order to obtain this result, An Giang Customs Department has effectively implemented the fight against smuggling at the border gates, import and export goods have passed official procedures through border gates, minimizing the goods through trails. Besides, leaders of An Giang Department of Customs direct civil servants to implement in addition to facilitating businesses and people that have to strictly follow the business process in accordance with regulations; promptly detecting inadequacies affecting the state budget revenue.

Besides, An Giang Customs Department has constantly reformed, simplified administrative procedures, digitised customs procedures, shortened the time for customs clearance of goods and solved problems relating to customs clearance, tax policy; at the same time it always accompanies, shares, builds and develops Customs - business partnerships, building trust with businesses, promoting import and export activities in the province.
