Achieve 99.7% via coordinating to supervise goods through Tien Sa port, Da Nang

VCN - The coordination of surveillance of export and import goods under Article 41 of the Customs Law through Tien Sa port (Da Nang) between customs authorities and Tien Sa port enterprises has been carried out from the end of 2016 to now. The result showed that rates of containers under coordinated management and supervision achieved the high result of 99.7%.

Da Nang Port Customs Department said that in the process of implementation, the unit has conducted a quick survey by a rating report on the handling of goods for transferring to surveillance area with 65 enterprises or carriers who usually implement confirmation procedures of goods via surveillance area. The results showed the majority of enterprises said that the time to process the procedures for bringing goods into port for waiting for exporting or receiving imported goods and taking out of the port is very fast (62 enterprises); In particular, the delivery time for transferring goods to the surveillance area for exported and imported goods are evaluated at the rate of under 1 hour by the enterprises.

According to Deputy Manager of Da Nang Customs Branch, Nguyen Cong Tam, the close cooperation with port business in supervising goods through the surveillance area contributes to the simplification of customs procedures in the form of reducing time for cargo clearance, reducing travel time and procedures at customs supervision.

At the same time, to ensure the authenticity of the data, to update fully and accurately information on the number of containers and code of goods storage places; the verification of goods through the surveillance area is timely to the actual time.

In order to promote the coordination of goods management and supervision and improve the automation, the Da Nang port Customs Branch has developed plans to expand the management and supervision of import and export goods, following the model of automatic customs management system implemented by the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

Deputy Manager Nguyen Cong Tam said that, in May, the unit directly worked with the leadership of Danang Port Logistics Joint Stock Company and leaders of Tien Sa Port Enterprise for the goals, requirements and roadmap. All businesses agreed on the viewpoint of the implementation, ensuring the inspection and supervision of goods, consistent with the trend of integration, facilitating to business community. Both companies are committed to preparing equipment, connection lines and resources to connect with the Customs authorities.

According to the plan, in the third quarter of 2018, the Da Nang Customs Branch will cooperate with warehouse, yard and port enterprises to deploy automatic Customs management system. Currently, Da Nang Port Logistics Joint Stock Company is in the process of finalizing the software and is committed to completion in the early month of June/2018.
