Moc Bai Border Gate Customs Branch (Tay Ninh Customs Department) said that at about 2:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024, at the Moc Bai international border gate, the unit presided over and coordinated with the Anti-smuggling and Investigation Department (General Department of Customs), Moc Bai International Border Gate Border Guard Station, Ben Cau District Police to inspect the suspect Huynh Mai Trung Tinh (born in 1992) residing in Tan An ward , Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong province driving a truck plate number 61H-008.58 from Cambodia to Vietnam with many suspicious signs.

As a result, the authorities discovered US$250,000 without customs declaration hidden in the truck’s cabin.

Working with the authorities, Huynh Mai Trung Tinh said that at about 10:00 a.m. on January 8, 2024, he drove a truck plate number 61H-008.58 to transport cartons of the Company. V.S.D Trading LLC from Binh Duong to Moc Bai international border gate to export to Cambodia. While the truck was unloading on the Cambodian side, a Cambodian man (unknown name) brought a black plastic bag containing the foreign currency. The Cambodian man then asked Tinh to bring the money to Vietnam.

The authorities have made a record of arresting the offender red-handed and continued to investigate and handle the case according to the provisions of law.

Then, at about 2:00 p.m on January 8, 2024, Huynh Mai Trung Tinh was driving the above truck from Cambodia to Vietnam to the import flow of goods at Moc Bai international border gate, he was inspected and arrested.

Moc Bai Border Gate Customs Branch has made a record of arresting the offender red-handed and continued to investigate and handle the case according to the provisions of law.
