35,000 gauze masks provided to China by Vietnam Customs for corona prevention

According to Anh, on the basis of cooperation on anti-smuggling between Vietnam Customs and China Customs, on 28 January 2020, the focal point of cooperation in anti-smuggling of Hekou Customs (Kunming, China) contacted with the Anti-smuggling and Investigation Department as focal point of Vietnamese Customs, to express their wish for support of medical masks for corona prevention.
Assessing the necessity of the above proposal of Hekou Customs, to ensure the rapid implementation of the support, the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department discussed with Director of Lao Cai Customs Department Nguyen Viet Quang about the proposal.
Based on the discussion with the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department, Lao Cai Customs Department directed Lao Cai Customs Branch to give a total of 20,000 masks to Hekou Customs (China), including batches on January 29 and February 2.
According to the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department, besides supporting masks of Lao Cai Customs Department, on February 2, Tan Thanh Customs Branch (Lang Son Customs Department) also gave Pingxiang Customs and Youyiguang Customs (China) 15,000 masks to support the prevention and control of corona virus.
“The Chinese Customs has sent a letter of appreciation and thanks for the timely support of the Vietnamese Customs. This not only showed the spirit of cooperation between the Customs of the two countries, but also the spirit of positive responsibility of the Customs force in the prevention and control of corona,” leader of the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department said.
