The training conference is for customs officers under Hai Phong Customs Department (about 150 officers) and the business community (about 300 enterprises).
At the conference, Deputy Director of Hai Phong Customs Department Tran Manh Hung said, Vietnam has joined 15 free trade agreements such as ATIGA, ACFTA, AKFTA.
In particular, on January 1, 2022, marking the official entry into force of the RCEP Agreement - the world's largest free trade agreement. RCEP connects ASEAN and major economies in the world such as China, Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
The entry into force of the RCEP Agreement will contribute to the multilateralization of free trade agreements that ASEAN has signed with each partner countries, harmonize commitments and provisions in these agreements, maximize economic benefits, especially rules of origin and trade facilitation, contributing to strengthening regional supply chains and post-Covid-19 economic recovery.
In addition, in the process of deeper world economic integration, Vietnam is now a member of international treaties that are the core of the world intellectual property system, such as the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property; Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works; international treaties on facilitation of procedures for international registration of intellectual property rights, such as Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT); The Madrid Protocol on the International Trademark Registrations and the Hague System for the International Registration of Industrial Designs.

“The conference is held to train, disseminate legal policies for enterprises engaging in the field of imports and exports, the RCEP Agreement, guiding documents and implementation; regulations on labeling of goods and infringement of intellectual property rights in order to help businesses understand and improve their compliance capacity, limit errors and mistakes in customs clearance and create more favorable conditions in import and export activities, reduce the clearance time and realize the commitments on accompanying businesses," said Deputy Director General Tran Manh Hung.
For officers and employees of Hai Phong Customs Department, the leader of Hai Phong Customs Department requested customs officers uphold the sense of responsibility, strictly follow the rules of the training and understand topics presented by the lecturers; actively discuss and share difficulties and problems with the lecturers to find solutions for the General Department of Customs to add them to the guiding process in the future.
