228 enterprises were granted certificates of eligibility for scrap imports by the MONRE

The above list was granted certificates by the MONRE. Enterprises which were granted certificates by the provincial / municipal Natural Resource and Environment Departments have not been provided to the Customs until 27th July, 2018.
In addition, if enterprises who have been granted the certificates of eligibility of environmental protection for scrap imports as production materials have not yet been named in this list, they may contact the customs to update the information.
Regarding the management of imported scraps, on the afternoon of 27th July, 2018, Deputy Director General of Customs Mai Xuan Thanh continued to chair the meeting with representatives of its subordinate units.
He requested the units to closely follow the direction of the Prime Minister, leaders of the Ministry of Finance and leaders of the General Department of Customs to strengthen management measures to effectively deal with scrap imports.
Notably, he asked the heads of the units to further review, verify and handle violations related to the scrap imports.

Regarding the management and imports of scraps, it is expected that on Monday of 30th July 2018, the General Department of Customs will hold a press conference to inform about this hot issue.
