According to Hanoi Tax Department, in recent time, there were some incoming calls to enterprises from people impersonating as tax officers of Hanoi Tax Department in order to solicit, entice, threaten and force enterprises to buy a book, document or sign a contract for sponsoring printing, publishing a book or publication activities of being honored enterprises, handbook of tax, establishing a tax sector fund.
According to the Hanoi Tax Department, impersonation is an illegal act by taking advantage of the name of tax officials, tax authorities at all levels in order to earn personal profit and defraud enterprises. This also harmed the prestige and image of leaders and officials of tax authorities at all levels.
Representatives of Hanoi Tax Department asserted that the impersonations as mentioned above showed signs of crime. So it should be prevented, timely detected and handled in accordance with the law.
Facing this phenomenon, the Hanoi Tax Department confirmed that the tax authorities have no such policy nor send tax officials to call, fax or bring books to sell to taxpayers.
Currently, all documents are provided by the tax authorities free of charge and posted on tax authorities’ websites. The training programs provided by the tax authorities are free and will send invitations to taxpayers.
Representative of Hanoi Tax Department requested taxpayers to raise their vigilance and continue to coordinate for informing and timely reporting of fraudulent acts to police offices at all levels or the Hanoi Tax Department in order to take measures for handling timely.
