Speaking to Customs Magazine, Mr. Dao Chi Thanh, Director of Vung Ang Port Border Gate Customs Branch, said that from the beginning of the year, the unit has implemented many solutions to support customers and create maximum convenience for businesses to good clearance in the area. Accordingly, from the beginning of the year, the unit has attracted 57 enterprises, an increase of 14%, mainly foreign-invested enterprises to open import-export declarations in the area, thereby contributing to increasing budget revenue.

In addition, with the main source of revenue from Hung Nghiep Formosa Ha Tinh Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. (accounting for over 97% of the unit's total budget revenue), Vung Ang Customs regularly captures production and business information of enterprises; provides timely guidance related procedures and remove difficulties and obstacles in import-export activities so that businesses can get fast customs clearance.

Accordingly, as of July 15, 2024, the unit received and processed customs procedures for 2,659 sets of declarations, up 22.25% with total taxable trade turnover of US$1,809.49 million, up 12.9%, bringing the unit's revenue to VND4,482.87 billion, equal to 50.84% ​​of the assigned target and an increase of 15.2% over the same period in 2023.

To ensure the completion of the state budget revenue estimate for 2024, according to Mr. Dao Chi Thanh, the Branch is creating maximum convenience for import and export activities, promptly resolving arising problems related to customs procedures and policies. tax, tax management, tax collection and payment, tax refund, tax exemption... At the same time, actively developing the Customs – Business partnership in many aspects, from communication, business support, consultation to law enforcement, and cooperation with the business community. These solutions have promptly supported businesses.

In addition, in the last months of the year, the Branch will also focus on drastically implementing solutions to create maximum convenience for import and export activities, actively reforming administrative procedures, and expanding electronic customs procedures to improve risk management capacity in analyzing and identifying key points.

In particular, strengthening tax management, ensuring that all revenue sources are collected correctly, fully and promptly into the state budget; focusing on preventing revenue loss through checking taxable values, classifying and applying tax rates; promoting post-customs clearance inspection; strengthening customs control, preventing smuggling, trade fraud..., Mr. Dao Chi Thanh emphasized.
