In particular, there was a shipment of more than 300 cars for Toyota Vietnam. Thus, only in June, nearly 1,000 cars have been imported through Hiep Phuoc Port.

According to Hiep Phuoc port Customs Branch, from the beginning of the year to 30/6, nearly 5,000 cars under 9 seats were imported through Hiep Phuoc port of Ho Chi Minh City with a total turnover of over $US 111 million.

The above cars were imported by 8 companies, including Mercedes, Mitsubishi, Honda, Toyota, Sweden, General ... especially, most of them are Honda cars.

Among the 5,000 cars, there were nearly 4,300 vehicles imported from ASEAN countries, which have enjoyed preferential tariff rates of 0%. The rest are luxury cars that were imported from other countries.

According to the HCM City Customs Department, it is forecasted from the end of the third quarter to the beginning of quarter IV/2018, the number of car (luxurious cars) imports from Europe and North America will be increased due to the companies’ orders. Thus, in the last 4 months of 2018, the HCM City Customs Department could collect more 3,000 billion VND to 4,000 billion VND from this car line.

Furthermore, HCM City Customs Department will cooperate closely with the group of automobile import enterprises to facilitate enterprises to clear cargo quickly.

According to the analysis of the HCM City Customs Department, in the past five months, the import value of all types of automobiles has fallen sharply, reaching just over $US 35 million, went down to nearly $US 274 million over the same period of 2017.

However, in June, a number of luxury cars have been imported to HCM City, resulting in a significant increase in imports.
