Thirteen kilos of crystal meth and 1,000 ecstasy pills seized

According to officials of the working team, this is a large case discovered by the Moc Bai Customs Branch of Tay Ninh Customs Department and Unit 6 under the Anti-Smuggling and Enforcement Department in coordination with other competent forces.

Implementing the plan of preventing and combating drug smuggling before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2020, under the direction of the leaders of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department developed special case MT19 and coordinated with the Tay Ninh Customs Department to tackle a transnational drug trafficking ring from Cambodia via Moc Bai Border Gate to Vietnam and assigned Unit 6 and Moc Bai Customs Branch to tackle special case MT919.

Drugs were hidden in high pressure pumps.

To successfully deal with this ring, the working team of the special case has deployed customs enforcement skills and coordinated with units, including the Customs Enforcement Unit, Anti-drug Enforcement Unit, Tay Ninh Customs Department, the Investigation Police Department on Drug-related Crime of Tay Ninh Police and Moc Bai International Border Guard Station to tackle the special case MT919.

On January 25, the working team of the special case inspected and detected dugs hidden inside five high pressure pumps that were transported from Cambodia to Vietnam. Competent forces seized 13 packages weighing 13kg.

Through a quick test, the substance tested positive as narcotics. Competent forces made a record and arrested SokLieph of Cambodian nationality.

Expanding the investigation, competent forces arrested two perpetrators and seized 1,000 ecstasy pills,tens of thousands of dollars and documents related to the transnational drug trafficking ring.

This is the first success in 2020 of the working team of the special case MT919 of Moc Bai Customs Branch- Tay Ninh Customs Department and Unit 6.
