The Customs sector develops plan on drastically fighting against smuggling

Accordingly, units have to drastically rectify and implement contents of the Government, Prime Minister, and National Steering Board 389 on fighting against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.

On the other hand, the Customs forces continuously strengthen the inspection and control of markets; prevent smuggling, trade fraud under their competence, management area and field.

In which, developing plans on drastically fighting against banned goods and other items such as petroleum products, ores, electronic goods, refrigerators, mobile phones, spare parts, machinery and tools, used cars and motorcycles, fertilizers, pesticides, tobacco, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, supplementary food.

The Anti-smuggling and Investigation Department needs to continuously study and promote the socialization of prevention of smuggling, trade frauds and counterfeit goods through the support from associations, organizations, and domestic and foreign business community; Strengthen the international coordination and actively collaborate with global organizations and brands to prevent counterfeit goods and intellectual property violations.

In 2017 and the first 4 months of 2018, the Customs control force detected, seized and handled 19,814 cases of Customs law violation, the value of infringing goods was estimated at VND 877.2 billion, collected and contributed VND 411.9 billion to the State budget.

Through handling, the Customs agencies prosecuted 66 cases and transferred 81 cases to other agencies for prosecution.
