VCN - Lao Bao Trade Zone Customs Branch (Customs Department of Quang Tri) has seized a bag of 43kg of solids (suspected as explosives) by a perpetrator leaving it in the Gate B- Lao Bao Special Economic Zone.

At 12.00 on 12^th February 2017, the Lao Bao Trade Zone Customs Force discovered a man driving a motorcycle number plate 74H1-056.64 from Khe Sanh to Dong Ha city (on the priority lane) carrying a package with suspicious signs, the Force requested the man to stop his motorcycle.

However, the driver did not abide by the force’s command and turned back the motorcycle to flee and then he fell down on the roadside.

Before the pursuit by the functional forces, the perpetrator took advantage of the rain and slippery road to leave the goods and the motorcycle and ran towards Khe Sanh town In the presence of some local residents, the Branch inspected the goods and the motorcycle left behind by the perpetrator and discovered a package with many gray hard objects with heterogeneous sizes which were explosives with a total weight of 43 kgs.
