Drugs are hidden inside a motorbike engine block

Through collecting information, the Drug Enforcement Team identified two Honda motorbikes carrying drugs from Vientiane (Laos) through the trail in the border area of Lao Bao town (Huong Hoa, Quang Tri) to Da Nang.

After reporting the case and asking for guidance from leaders of the General Department of Customs and leaders of Quang Tri Customs Department, the Drug Enforcement Team worked with the Customs Control Team, Quang Tri Customs Department to make a coordination plan with the Squadron 2, Anti-Smuggling Investigation Department (General Department of Customs); Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (PC04, Quang Tri Police); The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (PC04, Da Nang Police Department) to inspect and arrest the suspects in Da Nang City.

As a result, at 2:15 p.m. on November 15, 2023, in Da Nang City, the authorities caught three related suspects red-handed, including: Nguyen Van Cuong (born in 1989, residing in village 3, Tien Canh commune, Tien Phuoc district, Quang Nam province), Vo Ba Quoc, born in 1978 and Vo Van Cuong, born in 1992 (both residing in Phu Da village, Phuoc Chau commune, Que Son district, Quang Nam province) while these men were receiving two motorbike engine blocks sent on a passenger bus with Lao registration number 5455 from Laos to Da Nang (Vietnam)

The authorities conducted a search and confiscated 2,000 ecstasy pills, 1 kg of ketamine and 1 car.

Currently, all exhibits and related suspects are being investigated by the Police.
