Post clearance audit department increased more than VND100 billion in revenue collection

According to General Department of Vietnam Customs, in October (reporting in the period from 16 September to 15 October), the whole sector has conducted 134 cases of post clearance audit.
In particular, there were 31 cases of on-site audit at customs declarants' offices and 103 cases conducted at Customs authority.
The total amount of tax imposition and penalties for administrative violations was VND26.1 billion, actually collected VND30.41 billion to the state budget (including the revenues collected from the last inspection).
Accumulated from the beginning of the year to October 15, the whole sector has conducted 1,161 cases of post-clearance audit.
In particular, there were 346 cases of on-site audit and 815 cases conducted at customs authorities.
The total amount of tax assessment and handling of administrative violation was VND931.34 billion, actually collected VND870.71 billion to the budget.
Particularly, the Post Clearance Audit Department contributed more than VND492 billion to the State budget, accounting for 56.5% of the total revenue of the entire force.
Notably, the number of inspections conducted by the Post Clearance Audit Department decreased by 115 cases over the same period in 2019 (86 cases compared to 201 cases in 2019), but the revenue collection increased by more than VND100 billion (in the same period of 2019 it was VND381.6 billion).
According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, from now to the end of the year, the General Department would continue to guide and solve problems of local customs units and enterprises, especially problems related to preventing fraudulent origin of goods, value of taxable exports; guiding local customs departments to register to synthesise and build a plan of conducting post clearance audit and compliance assessment in 2021.
Continuing to direct the implementation of information collection, handling of assigned topics to ensure the required progress; implementing phase 4 of the plan to combat fradulent origin; building a list of key enterprises in accordance with the assigned field.
