Passenger cars imported to Hai Phong port area 1 Customs Branch increased more than 30 times

In 2017, Hai Phong port area 1 Customs Branch is the unit has the highest revenue collection among 9 Customs Branches under Hai Phong Customs Department.
With a target of 16,973 billion vnd, the Customs Branch accounted for 28.8% of the total estimated target budget of this year (the whole department is 59,000 billion vnd).
According to the updated information of the unit, from the beginning of the year till 14th April 2017, the total revenue reached 4866 billion vnd, equal to 28.67% of the target and rose 51% over the same period of 2016.
It is known that the revenue of the unit has increased significantly due to the increase of imported automobile. Specifically, by the end of the first quarter, import turnover of passenger cars that carrying procedures at Hai Phong port area 1 Customs Branch increased more than 30 times and the truck was increased 2.6 times over the same period in 2016.
The import volume of passenger cars at the Customs Branch increased because at the end of 2016, the RoRo ship (a specialized ship for transporting cars and some specific goods) transported shipments to the port and carried Customs procedure in Hai Phong port area 1 Customs Branch (previously RoRo ship did procedures at Quang Ninh Customs).
Besides that, other big revenue sources at Hai Phong port area 1 Customs Branch are hot-rolled steel sheets; hot-rolled non-alloy steel; machines and devices, etc.
