On 7 April 2019, while carrying out customs procedures for a passenger on flight BL171 from Osaka to Noi Bai Airport, suspicions were raised by Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch regarding the luggage of passenger Dinh Tuyet M.

Customs officers physically inspected thepassenger’s carry-on luggage and check-in baggage, and detected products suspected of being made from ivory with a total weight of over 15kg.

Currently, the case has been transferred to the Economic Police Department (HaNoi Public Security) for monitoring and handling in accordance with regulations.

In September 2018, the Branch coordinated with other competent agencies to seize over 1 ton of ivory, products made from ivory and pangolin scales transported from Nigeria to Noi Bai International Airport.
