On September 9, the Drug-related criminal Investigation Police Division, HCM City Police, said they worked with Drug-related Criminal Investigation Police Department – Ministry of Public Security to destroy a drug trafficking line from Cambodia to Vietnam, arrested three people and seized nearly 50kg of narcotics of all kinds.
Through performing professional work, the Drug-related Criminal Investigation Police Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police discovered the illegal transport of narcotics in large quantities from Cambodia across the border to the southwestern provinces to HCMC for consumption.
This is a new closed drug line that was established in mid-July 2020 by Bui Thi Kieu Loan, who was born in 1985, in Soc Trang province. Two suspects that helped Loan are Nguyen Hoang Tu (born in 1984) and Pham Dinh Nhan (born in 1977). Both of them are living in Ho Chi Minh City.
After extended monitoring, on September 2, the scouts found that three suspects were receiving two boxes of fruit containing drugs from the person carrying fruit and agricultural products, so the competent force arrested them.
Through searching the suspects and their residence, the police seized a total of more than 47kg of drugs of all kinds, including nearly 30kg of meth, 9.2kg of Ketamine, 20,000 tablets of ecstasy, 5.3kg of heroin. Currently, the case is continuing to be investigated.
