Nearly 400 Audi cars are changed purposes for domestic consumption, Customs will collected over 450 billion vnd of tax

Discussing with Customs News’ reporter, leader of Hiep Phuoc port Customs Branch – HCM City Customs Department said that, A Chau automobiles Co., Ltd is processed import procedure for changing purpose to domestic consumption of 389 Audi cars that temporarily imported to Vietnam in order to serve for APEC 2017 in Vietnam.
Nearly 400 cars that have been temporarily imported in 3 times, including 5 classes: 74 Audi A4 cars; 36 Audi A5 cars; 114 Audi A6 cars; 79 Audi Q5 cars and 87 Audi Q7 cars.
Regarding determining Customs valuation for calculating tax, based on document No.6804 / VPCP-KTTH of the Government Office, for imported cars sponsored for APEC in Vietnam, with using the time for APEC 2017 will be fully insured to meet the requirement of the Sub-Committee on materials and logistics. However, actually, the using time was less than 91 days so the taxable price shall be declared by the unit according to regulations - this price will be reduced to more than 10% of CIF of newly imported automobiles.

For imported cars sponsored for APEC 2017 in Vietnam with the using time from 91 days and over, the price for tax calculation that declared by the unit as prescribed – this price will be reduced by 12% of CFI price of newly imported automobiles.
According to calculations of Hiep Phuoc port Customs Branch, based on the enterprise's declared prices, if the tax calculation price is lowered at 10%, the total tax amount to be paid for the above cars is over 460 billion vnd. If reducing the tax rate by 12%, the total tax that Audi Vietnam must pay is over 450 billion vnd (calculated at the current exchange rate of 26.725 USD / EUR).
