Mr. Luu Manh Tuong appointed as Director of the Import and Export Taxation Department

VCN- On the afternoon of September 30, 2016, at the headquarters of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the Director General, Mr. Nguyen Van Can announced Decision 3201/ QD-BTC of September 26, 2016 of the Ministry of Finance appointing Mr. Luu Manh Tuong, the former Deputy Director of the Hai Phong Department of Customs to be the Director of the Import and Export Taxation Department from October 1, 2016.

When announcing the Decision to Mr. Luu Manh Tuong, Mr. Nguyen Van Can stressed that because Customs drastically conducts modernization and reforms, and improves efficiency of State management, especially in the field of taxation to enhance the management of Customs value and tax debts, the responsibility of the Director of the Import and Export Taxation Department is very important.

The Director General said that the Director of the Import and Export Taxation Department must gather and ensure the unity in the Department, assign tasks and carry out functions and duties of the Department properly. In particular, he needed to pay more attention to improving the system of tax law.

Also, the Director General stated that in the near future, there will be a lot of tasks related to tax administration, including the implementation of the new Law on export tax and import tax. Thus, the Import and Export Taxation Department should assign the forces to handle the problems arising when implementing this law.

In addition, the Director General also required the Director of the Import and Export Taxation Department to focus on improving the system of tax law and the management of Customs value and tax debts.

Thanking for the trust and appreciation of the Director General, Mr. Luu Manh Tuong promised to fulfill the tasks assigned by the leaders of the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

Earlier, Mr. Luu Manh Tuong had worked for the Import and Export Taxation Department for nearly 20 years as the Deputy Director. By the end of 2014, he was assigned to work at the Hai Phong Department of Customs as the Deputy Director of the Hai Phong Department of Customs.
