Mong Cai Customs has carried out Customs procedures for self-driving car from 1st June 2018

These vehicles are cars of 5 and 7 seats, which are permitted to travel in the country of entry from one to five days.
This is a program in the pilot project of management and exploitation of self-driving cars from China through Mong Cai International Border Gate to enter Ha Long City (Quang Ninh province, Vietnam) and the self-driving cars from Vietnam to enter Guilin-Guangxi (China) for tourism purposes under Decision No.1741/QD-UBND dated 18th May 2018 of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, the pilot period is from June 1 to December 31, 2018.
It is known that Customs officials of Mong Cai Customs Branch have implemented Customs procedures, inspection and supervision for 18 Vietnamese cars on exit and 48 Chinese cars on entry in accordance with regulations.
Previously, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Minh allowed the People’s Committee of Quang Ninh Province to pilot the operation of self-driving cars from China to enter Ha Long City (Quang Ninh province).

At the same time, agreeing with relevant ministries, sectors before the pilot, and to especially notice the number of vehicles operating every day, every month; scope of operation and the measures to ensure public security and traffic safety.
