Mong Cai Customs collects more than VND1.6 billion from handling violations

Accordingly, the branch chaired and coordinated to seize and handle 46 cases of illegal transport of goods without invoices and documents; held in custody violated goods valued at over VND1.1 billion; issued sanction decisions and paid into the state budget of VND 866 million; handled 191 cases of administrative violation relating to customs procedures; the monetary penalty is more than VND 770 million.

In recent times, Mong Cai Customs has continued strengthening information collection, grasping the situation of management area to implement anti-drugs activities following the warning the methods of drug trafficking and heroin via express delivery; strictly control the process of customs inspection and supervision when carrying out procedures of import and export for chemistry and drug precursors.

The unit also strengthens inspection and supervision activities for fresh seafood and exported agricultural products originating from countries in the golden triangle area (Thailand, Laos, Myanmar) and from Cambodia to import and export goods through the Pontoon Bridge Km 3+4, which have potential risks of transporting drugs, precursors, and illegally transporting wild animals and wildlife products.

Mong Cai Customs Branch also focuses on export shipments in bulk and containers that can be used to cheat and illegally export sand, following the warning dispatches of the General Department of Vietnam Customs and Quang Ninh Customs Department.

The branch has used sniffer dogs to work on the scene, conduct an unscheduled inspection of import and export shipments; bonded warehouses, fresh seafood, agricultural export products originating from countries in the golden triangle area (including Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar) and originating from Cambodia.
