On August 10, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (C04, Ministry of Public Security) informed about the results of the implementation of the Anti-drug Action Month (PCMT), with the theme "Drastic and effective anti-drug prevention and control, responsibility enhancement, proactive coordination - For a drug-free community".

Accordingly, the Ministry of Public Security - the standing agency on anti-environmental protection has actively advised and promulgated a directing document by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang to direct ministries, branches and localities to implement Action Month.

In which, focus on promoting the roles, responsibilities and efficiency of coordination between all levels and sectors; drastic implementation of propaganda, attack and suppression of drug crimes; improve the effectiveness of addiction treatment.

Especially, implementing urgent key tasks in drug addiction prevention, control and treatment, contributing to reducing supply and demand; reduce the harmful effects of drugs, towards building a clean community on drugs.

The Ministry of Public Security promulgates a plan to direct the police of units and localities, the main owner of which is the police force to investigate drug-related crimes, to open a peak period of propaganda, attack, and repress, to uncover criminal lines and eliminate complex drug-related points and densities, especially on key routes and areas, etc.

The Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Finance direct the Border Guard, Coast Guard and Customs forces to launch attacks to suppress drug crimes at borders, border gates, at sea and in related areas.

The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs directs the local Departments of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and drug detoxification establishments to propagate the law on drug addiction treatment and post-treatment management.

The Ministry of Health directs the local Departments of Health to review the capacity of the grassroots health system and publish the list of eligible facilities to determine addiction status.

Ministries, branches and localities have stepped up propaganda and prevention work with rich and diverse propaganda forms and contents, following the motto towards grassroots level, especially in key areas and areas, high-risk groups, etc.

Arrested more than 5,000 subjects

Regarding the struggle results in Peak Month, the main forces (Police, Border Guard, Customs, Coast Guard) detected and destroyed more than 3,000 cases, more than 5,000 subjects.

In particular, the Drug Crime Investigation Police force opened a peak of drug crime attacks nationwide, thereby detecting and arresting 3,073 cases and 4,953 subjects.

The seized exhibits include: 57.8 kg of heroin, 26.58 kg of marijuana, 2.6 kg of opium, 614.46 kg and over 240,000 tablets of synthetic drugs and many related exhibits.

The Public Security Agency prosecuted 2,672 cases, 3,920 defendants; administratively handled 57 cases, 291 subjects with a total amount of nearly 315 million VND.

Notably, the Ministry of Public Security has directed professional units to detect and handle 7 cases of illegal drug trafficking in cyberspace.

Reviewing and detecting 393 channels, groups, and personal accounts with illegal advertising and trading activities in cyberspace; 9 websites have content to guide the cultivation of opium poppy and marijuana, and at the same time implement measures to handle and prevent this behavior.

The Border Guards took the lead and coordinated to successfully fight 18 special cases, arresting 224 cases and 333 subjects. Seized exhibits are 60 cakes and 248.6 grams of heroin, 207,400 tablets and over 15 kg of synthetic drugs, nearly 4.2 kg of opium, 105 grams of marijuana and many related evidences.

Customs force presided over and coordinated in arresting 39 cases, 45 subjects, seizing 9.24 kg of heroin, 6.89 kg of cocaine, 0.4 kg of opium, over 19 kg of synthetic drugs, over 24 kg of ketamine, 0,28 kg of drug "fun water", and many related evidences.

The Coast Guard directly and coordinated to fight 56 cases, 79 subjects, seized nearly 1.5 kg of heroin, nearly 6 kg of synthetic drugs.
