Lang Son: state budget revenue reached 21.35% of the estimate

VCN - According to the People's Committee of Lang Son province, as of 12th of April 2018,  total state budget revenue of the province was VND 1.259 trillion, reaching 21.35% of the estimate (VND 5.896 billion), up 1.3% compared to same period. In particular, import and export turnover was VND 633.7 billion, accounting for 15.4% of the estimate, down 15.7% over the same period; domestic revenue was VND 625.4 billion, reaching 28.5% of the estimate and equivalent to 125.1% over the same period.

In the first quarter of 2018, the members of the provincial Steering Committee for the State Budget collection took the initiative in actively taking specialized measures to assist the Tax agency in providing information and fighting against the acts of tax fraud and debts. Districts and the city actively directed the review of revenues in the province, intensified measures to manage revenue and combat the loss of revenue, and focused on households paying tax on fixed income.

In particular, the revenue management has been effectively implemented; Anti-smuggling and anti-trade frauds are directed by drastically by the competent authorities.

As of 12th April, the total import-export turnover of the province reached US$ 1,299.7 million, reaching 26% of the plan. In the first quarter, attracting over 910.8 thousand tourists, reaching 33.7% of the plan, up 10.8% over the same period; Turnover of social tourism reached VND 305 billion, reaching 31.4% of the plan, up 11.7%.

Only Lang Son Customs Department has processed more than 31,269 sets of import and export declarations through the border gates, the import-export turnover reached over VND 1,299.7 million, up 16.5% over the same period. However, the import and export tax amounted to VND 633.7 billion, decreasing 19.4% compared to the same period last year, reaching only 15.4% of the target assigned by the Ministry of Finance and 13% of the target assigned by the province’s People’s Committee.

Luggage for 576,912 passengers on entry and exit has been inspected and supervised at Huu Nghi International Border Gate. 1,949 sets of import-export declarations have been processed with a turnover of US$ 58.3 million.

In addition, Lang Son Customs has drastically combated against smuggling and trade frauds in the quarter and handled 159 cases with the total goods valued at nearly VND 2.2 billion.

Besides, the Lang Son Tax Department has also inspected and examined 17 enterprises, collecting previous debts of more than VND 70 billion

At the meeting with Lang Son Customs Department on the situation of management of imports and exports; anti-smuggling and anti-trade frauds, duty collection in the first quarter and solutions for the remaining quarters of 2018 (11th of April), Vice Chairman of Lang Son People's Committee, Nguyen Cong Truong, requested Lang Son Customs to further enhance the guidance and direction of border-gate management, especially at large border gates.

In the collection of taxes and fees, it is necessary to manage the revenue sources well, ensure the full revenue in accordance with regulations, while continuing to facilitate and attract import and export enterprises. Taking the initiative in talking with enterprises and timely solving problems arisen.

Particularly, in the fight against smuggling and trade frauds, Lang Son Customs is not allowed to loosen and allow the development of smuggling locations and lines. Taking the initiative in coordinating with concerned branches and forces and regularly exchanging information and performing tasks well; further strengthening the external relations with the Chinese forces.

The Vice Chairman Nguyen Cong Tranh, also asked the leaders of the Steering Committee for State Budget collection in the districts and the city to discuss some issues to evaluate the results in budget collection. At the same time, making recommendations and solutions to improve the efficiency of the collection; striving for the first 6 months to collect at least 55% of the estimate assigned by the province’s People’s Committee.

In particular, the Lang Son Tax Department should continue to advise the party committee and government to introduce solutions to prevent tax losses: increase revenue from low revenues; to closely coordinate with the branches, districts and the city in reviewing the collection for enterprises and business organizations; to manage the transfer of land use purposes; and to implement the projects to increase the budget revenue.
