Import-export revenue reaches VND240,390 billion

In the first eight months of the year, the total import-export revenue decreased by 19.2% to VND240,390 billion compared with the same period in the previous year, meeting 56.6% of the estimate.
In August, total trade in goods rose 8.8% to US$ 62.08 billion month-on-month. The export turnover increased by 9% to US$ 32.76 billion, and the import turnover grew 8.6% to US$29.32 billion.
Until the end of August, the total import and export turnover declined by 12.8% or US$64.21 billion to US$436.44 billion year-on-year.
In the first eight months of the year, the export turnover dropped 9.8%, and the import turnover fell 15.9% to US$208.27 billion.
In August, Vietnam had a trade surplus of US$3.44 billion, raising the accumulated surplus in the first eight months of 2023 to US$19.9 billion.
