HCMC Customs tightly controls price of 10 main import commodity groups

VCN - To implement the management effectiveness in taxable price of imported goods and prevent loss of State revenue, HCMC Customs Department has directed the Customs branches to strictly control the taxable price of consumer goods, large volume, and high taxes in order to organize consultations immediately, when rejecting the declared price.

Accordingly, each unit must research carefully, implement seriously and effectively the direction by the Minister of Finance in Announcement No. 733/TB-BTC dated 05/12/2016. In particular, strict control of the taxable price of consumer goods, large volume, and high taxes in order to organize consultations immediately, when rejecting the declared price.

If companies do not agree, Customs will issued decisions on tax assessment and request enterprises to pay tax in the clearance stage for 10 groups of goods including cars less than 9 seats of all kinds; others cars, motorcycles, bicycles; wine, beer and soft drinks; cosmetics, apparel, fabrics; meat, fresh seafood, chilled or frozen; instant food; metal ware, electronics, refrigeration, tablets, mobile phones; vegetables, fruit, sweets of all kinds; and tiles, sanitary equipment and engine types.

The case of companies ranked from 1st to 5th (good law compliance) if they deliberately not come to consult or not implement the Decision for post clearance audit of Customs offices, the Customs branches will implement to determine the taxable value like enterprises in ranked 6th, 7th or unrated.

The units must strictly implement the work to update the data in the system, after consultations (or post-clearance audit) to propose, amend and build new reference prices for advising the General Department of Customs for uniform application.
