HCM City Customs: Increased revenue by more than VND36 billion through price consultation

According to HCM City Customs Department, in the first 4 months of 2024, the unit consulted on 9,676 customs declarations, accepted the declared value of 5,720 declarations, and rejected the declared value of 2,711 declarations, reaching a rate of 28 02% of the total declaration has been consulted on prices, contributing to increasing revenue for the state budget by over VND36 billion.
Imported goods subject to consultation for high tax increases in recent times include Ceramic tiles, medicines, automobiles, motorbikes...
To ensure against loss of state budget revenue through price consultations, HCM City Customs Department directs units to seriously and effectively implement the General Department of Vietnam Customs' instructions on customs valuation work, coordinating with the customs branch to organize price consultations quickly, accurately, effectively and collect taxes correctly.
At the same time, focusing on price consultation, list of goods at risk of price, price check warnings on the clearance system, and limit the omission of shipments with low declared prices that have not been inspected or consulted, causing loss of revenue in both clearance and post-clearance. Furthermore, monitoring additional declarations, processing consultation results, assessing taxes and collecting taxes into the state budget.
