HCM City Customs Department collects VND56 billion of Tax debts

According to the department, by the end of May, the total overdue tax debt is VND1,873 billion, decreasing by over VND48 billion compared to December 31,2023.
On March 29, the General Department of Vietnam Customs issued Decision No. 847/QD-TCHQ assigning the target of collecting overdue tax debt of VND234,901 billion in 2024 to the department.
To effectively collect tax debt, HCM City Customs Department issued Plan No. 409/KH-HQTPHCM dated February 26, 2024 on collecting and handling tax debt in 2024, and issued a decision assigning the overdue tax debt target for each unit.
Through implementing solutions to urge tax debt collection, in the first 5 months of 2024, HCM City Customs Department has recovered and processed about VND56 billion of tax debt, reaching 23.81% of the target in 2024.
In addition, the department has coordinated to collect tens of billions of VND in domestic tax debt for the HCM City Tax Department.
