On the evening of Tuesday August 17, on the Ho Chi Minh route, the section of hamlet 1, Son Truong commune, Huong Son district, the Investigation Police Department on Drug-related Crimes (Ha Tinh Police), Huong Son District Police and Ha Tinh Border Guard arrested Nguyen Phuoc Tong, born in 1967, residing in hamlet 8, Quang Diem commune, Huong Son district, driving a car with signs of drug trafficking.
Through the investigation, the officials discovered a pack of heroin hidden under the car seat and a long knife. The man confessed that he bought the heroin from a Laotian for retail.

Searching the man’s home, the officials seized eight amphetamine tablets, one gun and one knife.

Nguyen Phuoc Tong had two prior convictions, including one that was drug-related.

The case is being investigated.
