Guiding and sharing experiences about risk management in making customs finalization reports

VCN - At the seminar on "Risk Management in Customs Finalization Report" held by International Logistics Joint Stock Company (InterLOG) in association with VISA Alliance recently, the guest speakers provided guidance and in-depth methods to help enterprises set norms and manage risks in customs finalization reports, avoiding errors in the implementation.

According to InterLOG leaders, risks in the supply chain are inevitable and can cause damage to businesses if they are not detected and have reasonable management methods. Realizing that urgent problem, InterLOG is a pioneer in consulting risk management solutions in the supply chain, especially in terms of risk management of customs finalization reports.

At the seminar, guest speakers shared and guided businesses on specific methods and more in-depth instructions to build norms and manage risks in customs finalization reports in the most effective way, helping businesses to directly apply them to their current reality.

In addition, the experiences and situations arising from the reality of export processing and production enterprises, and experts' perspectives have been shared to help businesses have a clearer view of practical issues, apply in accordance with regulations, avoid unnecessary errors, affect production and business activities, as well as the legal compliance process of enterprises.

In particular, during the discussion, questions, problems, and actual situations raised by enterprises about norms and customs finalization reports were analyzed and provided specific answers.

Sharing from the Customs perspective on risk management in customs finalization report, Mr. Le Hong Thang, former Deputy Manager of Processing Customs Branch (Hai Phong Customs Department) shared the contents and experiences to help businesses understand the characteristics of the Customs-enterprise relationship, the code of conduct and the points to note when preparing the dossier for making customs finalization reports.

Sharing with businesses about common mistakes in setting norms and guiding how to build accurate norms in customs finalization reports, Mr. Mai Hung Cuong, expert in training and consulting on customs procedures and finalization reports, InterLOG, said setting norms was a difficult step, but it was very important for making customs finalization reports. This activity helped businesses to control raw materials released for production, delivery of other raw materials and the amount of scrap and waste products in the process of export production and processing.

“However, in reality, some businesses have not realized the importance of setting norms and often face many difficulties in determining this factor, leading to discrepancies in data in customs finalization reports,” Mr. Cuong said.

To limit the obstacles, Mr. Mai Hung Cuong provided in-depth guidance on the method of setting norms for various types of processing, export processing and production enterprises. Thereby, helping businesses better understand the norms of different types and the importance of setting norms.

At the same time, this speaker also pointed out common mistakes in calculating norms and administrative penalties for each error. Besides that, providing specific instructions for enterprises on how to build material codes in internal management, and sharing practical experiences.

With real experience from businesses, Mrs. Pham Thi Cam Ha, representative of Hamaden Vietnam Co., Ltd., discussed with businesses how to coordinate in managing import and export data in the production process, helping businesses gain more experience to apply in practice in their own operations.

According to our research, through processing customs procedures, checking finalization documents, as well as post-clearance audit, Customs authorities have discovered many cases that enterprises make mistakes or violate regulations on making customs finalization reports; making an incorrect finalization reports; violating regulations on management of raw materials and supplies, and were sanctioned by the Customs authority. Although these violations are fined a small amount, they affect the business's legal compliance activities.

According to the leader of InterLOG, the experience shared at the seminar will help businesses understand the method of setting norms and avoid common mistakes and have received a lot of positive feedback from participating businesses.

This was also a great motivation for the VISA Alliance and InterLOG to continue to invest and organize more seminars and training courses in other regions, giving an opportunity to many businesses to participate in both face-to-face and online forms.
