This was mentioned at a meeting on building the Customs Propaganda Plan for the implementation of the ASEAN Single Window (ASW), NSW and Trade Facilitation, including contents relating to specialized inspection, and related trade facilitation. The meeting was chaired by leaders of the Customs IT and Statistics Department and held on March 20, 2017.
As a role of a standing agency of the National Steering Committee, the General Department of Customs requests that the implementation must be deep, wide, quick, practical and effective. Especially, through propaganda, it has attracted more and more participation of ministries and the business community to improve efficiency in implementation of the NSW, Specialized inspection and Trade Facilitation in general.
The content of propaganda must cover all issues relating to the ASW, NSW, specialized inspection and trade facilitation, particularly the achievements as well as shortcomings and difficulties of ministries and sectors should be frankly and objectively recognized. According to the Draft Plan, the forms of propaganda are diversified through the media; handbooks; conferences and seminars.
Recently, the Customs news has published many, articles and topics reflecting the activities of NSW and specialized inspection, reflecting achievements and shortcomings and obstacles of ministries and sectors; also recognizing the specific comments from the business community. In the coming time, the Customs Newspaper will further enhance to provide information on these contents on both the Customs newspaper and e-Customs news (www.baohaiquan.vn), and study to open a regular category in the two publications.
Regarding to the results of NSW implementation, Mr. Pham Duyen Phuong, Deputy of Customs IT and Statistics Department said that up to now, there are 11 ministries and branches connecting NSW with 37 administrative procedures. By March 6, 2017, there were 280, 880 administrative records handled on the National Single Window Portal and 9,998 enterprises.

Concerning the results of specialized inspection implementation, over the past time, the specialized management ministries directed functional units to collaborate with the Ministry of Finance (the General Department of Customs) to review, amend and supplement the legal normative documents relating to specialized inspections for imported and exported goods; formulate and promulgate the List of imported-exported goods subject to specialized inspection in 8 Customs areas with large volume of imported and exported goods such as Hanoi, Hai Phong and the Ho Chi Minh city.
