Discover more than 1,000 cases of violation in customs field in one month

On September 3rd, after the Government loosened social distancing and implemented solutions to promote economic development, allowing the re-opening of the land border gates between Vietnam and China, trade and illegal transport of goods across the border tended to increase.
The main infringing goods included sugar, cigarettes, beer, powdered milk, medicine, cosmetics, new electronics, poultry and poultry products and animal horns transported by subjects via air, seaport, post office, trail and opening paths.
Illegal trading and transportation of narcotics has occurred very complicatedly and tended to increase compared to the previous month. In the month, the air postal service discovered many cases of drug transportation.
On border routes such as Dien Bien, Nghe An and Tay Ninh, the situation of illegal drug transportation cross-border into Vietnam was still very hot and tricks were very sophisticated and drug seizures were large in quantity.
During the month (the reporting period from July 16 to August 15), the Customs sector worked to seize a total of 1,122 violation cases, the value of infringing goods was estimated at VND 161,268 billion and the revenue collected reached VND 70,716 billion.
Notably, the Customs authority prosecuted two criminal cases and transferred 10 cases to another agencies to propose for prosecution.
Typically, on August 17, the Northern Anti-Drug Enforcement Unit- Unit 5 (Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department, General Department of Vietnam Customs) worked with Nam Tu Liem District Police (Hanoi); Anti-Drug Enforcement Team (Hanoi Customs Department) arrested 2 subjects (residing in Dien Bien province) who illegally transported narcotics and seized 15 bricks of heroin.
On August 5 and 7, at Dong Phuoc import-export inspection gathering point (Tay Ninh), the Intellectual Property Protection Enforcement Unit - Unit 4 (Anti-smuggling and Investigation Department) worked with Xa Mat Customs Branch (Tay Ninh Customs Department) to inspect and detect two cases/ subject while transporting goods violating intellectual property rights in transit. The infringing goods include: 1,180 bluetooth wireless headset with an apple-shaped logo of Apple; 95 bracelets, made of metal, plastic have the shape "H", the inside of the bracelet is engraved with the word "Hermes"; 560 phone protection cases (back) with motifs protected by the intellectual property of Louis Vuitton, branded new 100%.
On August 13, Tan Thanh Customs Branch (Lang Son Customs Department) worked with Binh Nghi Border Post to inspect and discovered a shipment of 28 carton boxes that had electronic components in the form of sheets (40,980 total sheets), branded new 100% new and unknown owner.
