Discover 2 “scrap” containers of electronics at Cai Mep port

VCN – According to Cai Mep Customs Branch, the unit has coordinated with other competent forces to inspect 2 transit containers and discovered a lot of plastic scraps suspected as electronic scrap, which is in the list of prohibited import goods.

Scrap was suspected electronic rubbish that was discovered in transit container at Cai Mep port on 3/4

On 3/4, the Cai Mep Customs Branch coordinated with Customs Enforcement Unit under Ba Ria Vung Tau Customs Department, Economic Police Division – BR-VT Police, C74 and Cai Mep Border Post to inspect two transit containers declared as plastic scraps and discovered lots of used circuit boards.

Cai Mep Customs Branch said that the two containers arrived at Cai Mep port on 21/3 by Yaming Shipping Vietnam Co. Ltd., declared as on transit to the destination port at Hong Kong, goods were scrap plastic.

Through information collection, the Cai Mep Customs Branch coordinated with other authorities to conduct a physical inspection for 2 of the above containers. As a result, the goods were plastic scrap.

The competent forces have agreed to close the containers for appraisal because they could not identify the name of goods, quantity and type of goods.
