Detecting dried leaves were suspected as Khat leaves imported from Kenya to Vietnam

Customs coordinated to inspect cargo.

On 28/2/2017, at the warehouse of Noi Bai Cargo Terminal Service JSC (NTCS), Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department - General Department of Customs (Anti-Smuggling Enforcement Unit in Northern Region (Team 1); Information Collection and Analysis Division (room 2); Online Customs Supervision Division (room 3)) held and coordinated with the Hanoi Customs Department (Customs Enforcement Unit, Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch) with the Government Inspectorate in order to inspect a shipment with bill of lading No.70625431851 transported from Kenya to Noi Bai international airport dated 9/4/2016.

Through the process of examination, the witness of Representatives NTCS warehouse and the functional force detected goods on the bill of lading No.70625431851 consisted of 7 suitcases with 31 foil wrapped dried leaves (leaf was suspected as Khat leaves ).

Earlier, on 27^th February 2017, the Customs forces discovered 70 kg of dried leaves suspected to be Khat leaves from Kenya to Vietnam.
