According to the design, the Customs organizational structure at Long Thanh International Airport in phase 1 (from 2025 to 2050) will include two customs branches: the Long Thanh International Airport Customs Branch and the Express Cargo Customs Procedures Branch under the Dong Nai Customs Department.

The Customs headquarters project at Long Thanh International Airport belongs to component project 1 of the Long Thanh International Airport construction investment project. The project is located on a land area of 20,542 m2.

The project is invested by the General Department of Vietnam Customs with a total estimated investment capital of over VND337 billion from the State budget. After completion, the project will be assigned to the Dong Nai Customs Department for management and use.

In addition to the Customs headquarters, this area also has headquarters of other State agencies, such as: Border Police, Local Police, Port Authority, and Quarantine.

According to the approved design concept, viewed from the façade of the headquarters, the arched door frames evoke the concept of customs gates.

From above, the architectural blocks evoke the image of an airplane - the main means of transporting cargo between regions in the country and countries around the world and are associated with the control and management characteristics of the Customs in general and the headquarters of the Long Thanh International Airport Customs Branch in particular.

The main items of the project include a main office building and an on-duty rest house, sniffing dog breeding area, and auxiliary works including a transformer station, a pumping station, a fire prevention and fighting house, a guard house, two reserve land areas for phase 2, and a parking lot.

The office building has six floors, including the headquarters of the Long Thanh International Airport Customs Branch and the Express Cargo Customs Procedures Branch.

The Customs office's on-duty rest house has five floors, located behind the office building, facilitating communication and service.

According to the original plan, the project will start construction in March 2025 and and put into operation from August 2026. However, the General Department of Vietnam Customs speeds up procedures to start construction in January 2025 and complete on March and April 2026.
