The automated aviation management and supervision system is deployed in two warehouses, the TCS warehouse managed by Tan Son Nhat Cargo Service Joint Stock Company and the SCSC warehouse managed by Saigon Cargo Service Joint Stock Company with type of import.
Tran Duc Hung, Deputy Director of Customs Control and Supervision Department - General Department of Vietnam Customs said currently, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has developed and implemented the automatic customs management system deployed at 30/35 Customs Departments of provinces and cities nationwide, with the participation of 315 enterprises operating warehouses, yards and ports.
The system has increased automation in the connection between Customs authorities and businesses and harmonised the customs management and supervision process and the operation process of the enterprises, creating favourable conditions for firms to operate warehouses, yards and ports; reducing time and costs for import-export businesses, enhancing the efficiency of customs supervision.
Firms operating warehouses, yards and ports will benefit when they have full information on the status of granting clearance from the customs authority for each shipment to take goods in and out of the customs supervision area, reducing risks compared to paper documents
Import-export enterprises will reduce procedures for receiving goods when they do not have to present documents for the Customs authority to check like before, so it will cut costs and time for enterprises.
For the automated aviation supervision system, after more than four years of development and piloting, in September 2020, the system came into operation. After a period of careful preparation, up to now, the programme has officially been applied at the air cargo warehouse of Tan Son Nhat international airport.
Deputy Director of HCM City Customs Phan Minh Le requested Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch to coordinate with enterprises for implementing the programme. |
With the effectiveness of the programme, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department Phan Minh Le expected warehouse units would continue to work well with Customs authorities to effectively implement this programme, facilitating the operation of import and export firms.

As the unit implementing the automated supervision system, manager of Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch Bui Le Hung said this was a major policy throughout the Customs sector in modernisation development, aiding the business community. During implementation, the unit received great support from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, leaders of the HCM City Customs Department, as well as units, airlines, especially two businesses operating warehouses at Tan Son Nhat international airport.
According to Hung, the unit will determine and unanimously implement effectively the automated air cargo warehouse supervision system to improve efficiency of customs management and at the same time facilitate businesses and import and export activities.
