Customs seizes 4,000 packs of smuggled cigarettes

VCN – Dong Thap Customs Department has seized 4,000 packs of smuggled cigarettes transported by boat from the border gate to Thuong Thoi Hau A commune, Hong Ngu district.

Customs seizes 4,000 packs of smuggled cigarettes

4,000 packs of smuggled cigarettes seized by Dong Thap Customs on May 8.

According to Dong Thap Customs, on May 8, the Customs Enforcement Team under Dong Thap Customs coordinated with the Customs Operation Team of So Thuong Border Gate, Cau Muong Border Guard Station and local police to inspect the river route and the inland area bordering Thuong Lac and Thuong Thoi Hau A.

The working team detected 16 plastic bags containing 4,000 foreign packs worth about VND64 million.

The cigarettes were transported on a boat by smugglers from the border to Thuong Thoi Hau A commune, Hong Ngu district.

The enforcement team has notified to find the goods owner and coordinated with local residents to make a report and seize all infringing goods.

Recently, the transportation of smuggled cigarettes in large quantities has increased. Earlier, on May 4, the local competent forces seized a vehicle carrying 4,250 packs of smuggled cigarettes.
