Customs: Facilitation to passengers on entry and exit during the Lunar New Year

At Noi Bai international airport, during the Lunar New Year holiday, passengers crossing the Noi Bai International Airport highly increased, including many international visitors and overseas Vietnamese returning to visit the homeland. Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch prepared human resource and arranged officers to work 24/24 hours to be ready to assist and carry out procedures for passengers.

From 14th February 2018 to 20th February 2018 (equivalent to 29th December of Lunar Year 2017 to 5th January of Lunar Year 2018), there were 1,278 international flights, carrying 192,287 passengers on entry and exit through Noi Bai international airport.

At Da Nang International Airport, according to updated data from Da Nang Customs Department, during the Lunar New Year 2018, there were 89,121 visitors on entry and exit through the airport. Passengers were mainly overseas Vietnamese returning to visit the homeland and international visitors. Of which, there were 46,786 passengers on entry and 42,335 on exit, up by 140.96% over the Lunar New Year 2017.

Corresponding to the increase in the number of passengers, the number of flights on arrival and departures through the area also increased significantly. There were 635 passenger flights (of which 319 flights on entry and 316 flights on exit), an increase of 145.98% compared to the Lunar New Year 2017.

At Tan Son Nhat International Airport, during the Lunar New Year holiday, the number of passengers crossing Tan Son Nhat International Airport rose sharply, including many overseas Vietnamese returning home to reunite with their families. Therefore, the Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Department prepared human resources and arranged officers to work 24/24 hours to support and deal with procedures for passengers in general and overseas Vietnamese in particular. In addition, the Branch also assigned officers to carry out Customs clearance for import and export shipmentsfor productssuch as fresh food and seafood, to meet the needs of people during the Lunar New Year. .

In particular, after the Lunar New Year the number of passengers on exit has highly increased.The Branch has strengthened and arranged the youth delegation to support Customs procedures at the Exit Luggage Customs Procedure Team to provide timely assistance and best support to passengers.
