The ports of these 6 enterprises included: Duy Linh Trading Joint Stock Company; Hong Bang port; Dong Do Ship Repair Factory; Le Quoc Company Limited; and Energy Port.
On 7th August 2017, speaking to a reporter of the Customs Newspaper, the Deputy Director of the Hai Phong Customs Department, Mr. Nguyen Kien Giang said that Customs authorities shall not carry out procedures at the above ports because these ports were not on the list of ports of the Vietnam seaport system issued by the Ministry of Transport attached to Decision 480 / QD-BGTVT of 22nd February 2017.
In this regard, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the Customs Law and guiding documents, the areas of Customs operation include seaports and inland waterway ports for export and import activities which have been approved by the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Transport in accordance with the Law. On that basis, the Ministry of Finance (under the General Department of Vietnam Customs) shall arrange the Customs authorities to carry out the procedures for the imported and exported goods and means of transport as prescribed by the Law.
"The Hai Phong Customs Department will facilitate all inspections and supervision for imported and exported goods and means of transport at ports that meet the requirements of the Maritime Law, the Customs Law and other legal documents", the representative of Hai Phong Customs Department said.
Why do revenues of Hai Phong Customs reduce trillion of VND? |
According to Decision 480 / QD-BGTVT of 22nd February 2017 of the Ministry of Transport, Hai Phong has 46 seaports on the list of Vietnam's seaports with the highest number of seaports, 6 ports more than HCM City (Ho Chi Minh City has 40 seaports) and 8 seaports more than the third place as Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
