Customs and Border Guard of AnGiang province coordinate to protect border security

VCN- On October 30, the Customs Department and Border Guard of AnGiang Province held a conference to deploy and sign a coordination plan for implementation of Coordination Regulation No.3929/QC-BĐBP-TCHQbetween the Border Guard High Command and the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

At the conference, Director of An Giang Customs Department, Tran Quoc Hoan, and Commander of An Giang Border Guard Command, Nguyen Thuong Le, appreciated the achievements in the coordination between the two forces, contributing to protecting border security and preventing smuggling and crime.

The Customs Department and Border Guard of An Giang Province have actively implemented coordination plans and solutions in controlling immigration, imports, exports and transit; preventing smuggling and illegal transportation of goods across border gates, trade fraud and crime inborder areas, which achieved positive results in coordination. During the implementation, the two forces have reviewed the implementation of signed coordination regulations and plans, thereby raising awareness of coordination between the two forces.

In order to effectively implement the coordination, AnGiang Customs Department and An Giang Border Guard Command developed and signed a coordination plan for implementation of Coordination Regulation No.3929/QC-BĐBP-TCHQbetween the Border Guard High Command and the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

According to this plan, the two forces have concretized the contents in the Coordination Regulation with seven specific issuesto implement strictly and effectively implement the coordination contents in the management and control immigration, imports, exports and transit; prevention of crime and law violations at border gates, border areas and seaports. Enhance responsibilities of the two forces in coordination, ensuring the increasingly comprehensive, intensive and effective coordination.

At the conference, the two forces discussed and agreed on effective coordination contents. Director of AnGiang Customs Department Tran Quoc Hoan said that the Customs and Border Guard forces are the main guard forces at the border. Therefore, the two forces need to assess the actual situation in the areato exchange and share information.

Director Tran Quoc Hoan also wantedthe Border Guard force to support the Customs force in the work, especially the use of supporting tools for Customs officials at border gates.

The Commander of AnGiangBorder Guard Command Nguyen Thuong Lesaid that there are urgent and occasional cases that must have effective coordination.

“Recently, the Customs and Border Guard of KhanhBinh Border Gate have coordinated effectively in seizingnearly 12 tons of smuggled scrap atthe border area. These forces need to promote this efficiency,”Mr. Nguyen Thuong Le said.

To effectively implement the Coordination Regulation No.3929/QC-BĐBP-TCHQ and the coordination plan, leaders of the two forces requested units to deploy some key tasks.

Based on the Coordination Regulation No.3929/QC-BĐBP-TCHQ and the coordination plan signed by the two forces, border guard stations and customs authorities at border gates need to rectify and develop the implementation plan. Enhance awareness and responsibility in the implementation of the Coordination Regulation; consider the coordination between the two forces as an objective requirement and an important basis to contribute to the accomplishment of political tasks of each force.

In addition to strengthening information and exchange, units should develop key plans, monitor and collect information to destroy large smuggling points, lines and gangs of sugar, cigarettes and scrap; big cases of trading, transporting drugs, weapons, explosives, cash and goldacross the border.

Previously, the two forces deployed the Peak Plan to prevent and combat smuggling, illegal transportation of goods and drugs across the border in the last months of the year.

According to this plan, the leaders of the two forces requested Customs Branches and Border Guards at border gates of Vinh Hoi Dong, KhanhBinh and Vinh Xuong to remove shortcomings in the coordination between the two forces, strictly and effectively implement contents in the plan; regularly collect information on the area, items and subjects; patrol, inspect, control and arrest; make records and handle violations; implement internal protection; strengthen destroying of smuggling gangs and lines;prevent warehouses of smuggled goods and drugs at the border, affecting border security.
