In that, regarding to narcotics, two forces have coordinated to establish 2 specialist projects to struggle with drug crimes, arrested 10 cases with 12 subjects, seized 17 grams of heroin, 2,924 tablets and 12,3 kg of synthetic narcotic, 10 kg of opium, 4 kg of poppy, 1 car, 3 motorcycles, 3 mobile phones, 2,840 thousand vnd and 2 gold necklaces.

Additionally, regarding to smuggling of goods, two forces also collaborated to arrest 57 cases of trafficking with 58 people, seized 7 cars, 6 motorcycles; 8,900 tons of coal, 31 tons of sugar; 40,360 packs of cigarettes; 485.5 kg firecrackers; 3.9 m3 + 3.915.5 kg of wood; 40,000 liters of petrol; 1,430 kg crocodile; Over 2.4 billion vnd and $US 11,100 , 16,520 thousand Kip (Laos), 100 thousand Reil (Cambodia) and other goods with total value of over 2 billion vnd.

Evaluation of the situation of smuggling of goods and prohibited goods in the recent time, the Drug and Crime Prevention Department said that drug trafficking activities from China into Vietnam through the border areas of Lang Son, Cao Bang, Quang Ninh then transferred to the Central Highlands areas and HCMC for consumption have increased; the transnational drug trafficking lines have continued to expand their operations, transport drugs in large quantities.

At the same time, crimes of smuggling, trade fraud, and cargo transportation on the frontiers border have occurred complexly. In that, at the borderline such as Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Long An, Kien Giang and An Giang, smuggler mainly transport cigarettes, sugar, alcohol, beer, soft drinks, firecrackers, poultry, electronics, and artifacts. The situation of smuggled items tends to increase.

On the other hand, at the sea border, smuggling and illegal transportation of petroleum with large scale and quantity in the sea areas of the provinces including Phu Yen, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, HCMC, Tien Giang, Tra Vinh, Ca Mau, Kien Giang, Quang Binh, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa. Remarkably, foreigners often directly contact, link with the ship owner for agreement in transport goods,... In particular, wildlife trade from African countries to Vietnam has increased with sophisticated tricks are increasing.

Although the coordination of two forces in crime prevention at border area has been developed deeply and substantively, the information exchange is limited, coordination between units and localities is not effective.

Therefore, according to the Drug and Crime Prevention Department, from now until the end of the year, the 2 forces should direct the units to work out plans for coordination to be more specific and practical manner. Especially, focusing on the investigation, verification on specific crimes in order to establish integrated projects. Moreover, they should set up plan for investigation, survey lines, specialized topics, focusing on drug crimes, smuggling and trade frauds.
