This is the statement of Director General of Directorate of Market Surveillance at the conference on inspection and handling of administrative violations in e-commerce and digital economy, held by this unit on June 20.
Speaking at the conference, Director General of Directorate of Market Surveillance Tran Huu Linh said e-commerce in Vietnam is developing positively but also hides problems and risks destabilizing the economy.
Regarding the implementation of the plan on strengthening inspection, examination, control, prevention and combat against smuggled goods, fake goods, banned goods, goods of unknown origin and goods infringing intellectual property rights in e-commerce, the country has conducted 141 inspections, handled 78 violation cases andfined VND 1.5 billion with infringing goods of VND 1.34 billion. |
Smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin and goods infringing intellectual property rights are openly traded on social networks such as Facebook, Zalo or e-commerce websites and e-commerce trading platforms.
These are channels distributing many illegally imported items without invoices or documents and fake goods from famous brands.
Many online shops declare and register operations inaccurately about personal information, business address and often change business address and do not follow a specific time sequence, making it difficult for inspection and control from the market surveillance force.
The conference introduced e-commerce and digital economy, methods to identify signs of administrative violation in e-commerce and measures in inspection and handling of administrative violations in e-commerce.
At the conference, some leaders of provincial and municipal market surveillance departments commented on the inspection and handling of administrative violations of e-commerce; raised obstacles and introduced solutions to improve the efficiency of inspection, discover and handle violations in e-commerce activities; as well as commented on the actual situation of inspection and handling of violations in e-commerce.

In addition, they also discussed law on e-commerce and some issues arising from actual implementation,information and communication in e-commerce activities on social networks and coordination on inspection and handling administrative violations in e-commerce activities.
