Through inspections, the Customs issued decisions on tax assessments and sanctions for administrative violations of VND 1,625 billion (increasing by 18% compared to the same period of 2017); the contributed actual revenue to the State budget was VND 1,563 billion, reaching 70% of the target in 2018 (VND 2, 235 billion) up 15% compared to 2017.
In the third quarter of 2018 (from 16 June to 15 September 2018) the Customs sector conducted 2,513 post clearance audits, of which, 360 audits at premises of Customs declarants and 2,153 audits at head offices of Customs, and collected VND 617 billion from tax assessments and sanctions for administrative violations, and the contributed actual revenue to the State budget was VND 635 billion.
In the third quarter of 2018, the Post Clearance Audit force focused on inspecting major items such as scrap, liquor and paper in key areas such as Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and Binh Duong for the export production and processing.
Besides, the forces have also collected information on key enterprises and enterprises importing scrap to conduct the post clearance audit.

The General Department of Vietnam Customs requested local Customs departments to inspect and assess the law compliance by Customs declarants in 2018.
In addition, inspecting and monitoring key enterprises, key areas and requested municipal and provincial Customs departments to collect information to conduct post clearance audit for enterprises and sectors, items and categories with suspicious signs and high risks.
