Complete prosecution dossiers of enterprises exporting illegally scrap

VCN – According to Nguyen Thanh Long – Deputy Manager of Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch, they already have verification results of scrap shipments exporting illegally that occurred at Cat Lai port. The unit is completing dossiers to prosecute.

According to Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch, the verification result of Vinacontrol Group stated clearly the goods which were verified in four containers at Cat Lai port were aluminum scrap.

Along with that, Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch determined the value of the above shipment is more than VND 2.8 billion, cheating by some VND 620 million.

The above shipment was inspected by the Customs Supervision and Enforcement Team - Saigon Port area 1 Customs Branch in coordination with the Export Cargo Customs Team, Customs Enforcement Team - Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department. This shipment consists of four containers of scrap of Lam An Import Export Trading Services Co., Ltd. (District 1 Ho Chi Minh City) on 7/11.

The above shipment was exported to South Korea. The enterprise declared that goods were galvanised round steel tubes with the export tax rate of 0 percent. The shipment was classified to green channel.

Through physical inspection, Customs authorities discovered all goods were aluminum scrap, with export tax rate of 22 percent.
