VCN- Cau Treo Border Gate Customs Branch (under Ha Tinh Customs Department) coordinated with Ha Tinh Police to arrest two suspects transporting 30 pangolins from Laos to Vietnam.

Competent forces inspect infringing goods.

At 12am on July 29, whileperforming tasks at Rao Mac area of Ha Traivillage, Son Kim commune, Huong Son district (Ha Tinh), competent forces detected a passenger car with licence plate No.38B - 013.16 from Cau Treo International Border Gate to Tay Son Town, Huong Son district driven by Phan Van Dung, born in 1978, residing in Thach Linh ward, Ha Tinh city with suspicious signs of transporting banned goods.

Through inspection, the competent force detected Dang Thi Lai, born in 1978, residing in the Team 6 of Tay Son town, Huong Son district in the passenger car.

Inspecting the car, competent forces discover 30 pangolins with a total weight of 140 kg.

At the investigating office, Phan Van Dung and Dang Thi Lai claimed that they were hired by a person in Lac Xao-Laos to transport these pangolins via Cau Treo International Border Gate into Vietnam.

Currently, competent forces are expanding the investigation for handling suspects.
