Earlier, on 8th October, JSC Haiphong Port also welcomed Roll-on / Roll-off (RORO) vessels designed to carry wheeled cargo types (cars, trailers , railway wagons), docked firstly at Tan Vu port.
On 14th October, leaders of (Hai Phong Customs Department) said that RORO ships carried 416 imported cars and goods for Customs procedures at Hai Phong port Region I Customs Branch and Hai Duong Customs Branch (also in Hai Phong Customs Department).
"However, because the shipments had multiple pickups, the tax rate is less than for passenger cars which have less than 9 seats. So the total tax to be paid is about 200 billion VND which is less than the initially expected amount by the Customs agency. Till now, most of the cars have had import procedures "- the leader of Hai Phong port Region I Customs Branch share.
For the goods on board the TRIBINI TIN HAU ship , Customs Branch representatives of Hai Phong port Region I Customs Branch said: “even though the ship is docked at Tan Vu port which is the management area of the unit, the Customs goods open declaration will be opened by the enterprise, for Customs procedures in more than one unit in and out of Hai Phong Customs Department. Therefore, there is not enough information about the goods, the amount of tax etc.
