Amending and supplementing digital transformation plan of Customs sector

On June 27th, Director General of Vietnam Customs signed to issue Decision 1550/QĐ-TCHQ on amending and supplementing Digital Transformation plan of Customs sector until 2025 and vision toward 2030.

Accordingly, General Department of Vietnam Customs has amended and supplemented the content of part II of the Digital Transformation plan of Customs sector until 2025 and vision toward 2030 (issued under Decision 707/QĐ-TCHQ on may 4,2022 by General Department of Vietnam Customs).

According to the reporter's finding, the two key contents supplemented in Decision 1550 are the focus on implementing the Prime Minister's instructions on digital transformation in the customs field (in Official Dispatch No. 245/TTg-KTTH dated April 17, 2024) and deploy the contents of the Ministry of Finance's Digital Transformation Plan to 2025, with a vision to 2030 (according to Decision 1484/QĐ-BTC dated July 27, 2022 of the Minister of Finance).

To effectively implement the Prime Minister's instructions, the customs sector focuses on performing well the following tasks: review and complete legal policies in the direction of digitizing documents in the customs dossier towards paperless customs procedures for exported and imported goods; means of transport leaving and entering the country, gradually ending the requirement for customs declarants to submit paper documents in the customs dossier when carrying out customs procedures.

Review and complete the system of legal documents related to licensing and specialized inspection for exported and imported goods to promptly detect shortcomings, obstacles and recommend that specialized management agencies and competent authorities amend and supplement; promote reform, application of information technology, data sharing with customs agencies to serve cargo clearance...
