500 kg smuggled sturgeon seized

VCN- Quang Ninh Border Guard has seized 500kg of sturgeon illegally transported from China into Vietnam.

On April 24, a working team of Po Hen Border Guard Station (under Quang Ninh Border Guard) detected Chiu A Loc, 29, driving a car with the license plate No. 14C-231.12 at Than Phun 2 Bridge, on National Highway 18C.

Through inspection, the Border Guard force discovered 25 foam boxes containing 500 kg of sturgeon. Loc did not present any documents related to origin of the sturgeon.

He said he bought the sturgeons from China and then hired to transport them to Vietnam.

The case is under investigation by competent forces.
