According to Quang Ninh Customs Department, on 18th April 2017, at 20055.595N 107011.667E coordinates, Hon Dua area, on sea area of Ha Long city, Quang Ninh Province, the Mobile Control Team under the Customs Enforcement Team No.2 approached and inspected the HD-0466 ship from Ha Long to Hai Phong.

Through the inspection, the Customs forces detected the ship transporting 589.4 tons of bauxite tailings, and the value of the smuggled goods was 23,936 million vnd.

At the time of inspection, Mr. Nguyen Van Tien (the driver of the ship) claimed to be the owner of the bauxite tailings and did not present any legal invoices or document relating to the shipment.

Currently, the Customs Enforcement Team No.2 is handling the case as prescribed.
