VCN – Tinh Bien-An Giang Anti-smuggling Team detected a motorbike carrying bags containing 990 packs of smuggled cigarettes hidden inside water spinach, authorities said.

On August 7, during inspection, the Tinh Bien Anti-smuggling Team detected a suspect on a motorbike carrying bags of water spinach on Highway 91.

When detecting the team, the suspect fled from the vehicle and left the bags, An Giang Police said.

At the scene, the team discovered 990 packs of smuggled cigarettes.

Earlier, on August 6, authorities inspected a vehicle and detected 1,250 packs of smuggled foreign cigarettes on provincial road 955A, in Nhon Hung commune, Tinh Bien district.
