Seizing 800 tons of coal mine tailings without legal documents

VCN – In the morning of 5th August 2017, leader of Northern Customs Marine Enforcement Fleet (Marine 1, Anti-smuggling and Investigation Department, General Department of Vietnam Customs) said that the unit discovered a ship transporting 800 tons of coal mine tailings without legal documents.

At 3:20 PM, on 3/8, in the Halong Bay area, the working team under the Marine 1 was on patrol and inspected in accordance with administrative procedures a ship TB-1329 that owned by Xuan Bac 27-7 Co., Ltd. At the inspection time, the Customs forces discovered 800 tons of coal mine tailings (as a declaration) on the ship, the value of infringing goods is estimated 50 million vnd.

The captain of the TB-1329 ship is Đ.M.H (was born in 1977 and lives in Thai Thuy, Thai Binh province). He did not present any legal vouchers to prove the origin of goods on the ship.

Currently, Marine 1 has requested captain of the TB-1329 ship to stop the voyage in order to investigation for clarification.
